Hello My Name Is...

Nicole Dossey

Hello! My name is Nicole Dossey.  I am originally from Texarkana, AR.  I attended college at the University of Central Arkansas, but I graduated from Texas A&M-Texarkana.  I have a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading and an Early Childhood Endorsement.  My husband and I then moved to Bryan, TX while he attended Texas A&M University.  GIG EM AGGIES!!  I taught at a private school there for three years in first grade.  We then moved to San Antonio, TX so he could attend graduate school at Trinity University. I taught first grade in NorthEast ISD for a year and a half.  My husband then got a job in Alexandria,LA.  I worked for the Rapides Parish School Board at JB Nachman Elementary.  I taught third grade for a year, kindergarten for a year, and first grade for 6 years.  We have been back in Texas for the last 8 years.  I was a long term sub at Schluter and Peterson, then I was hired to teach first grade.  This is my 7th year at Peterson.  I am looking forward to teaching these awesome 1st graders!

Just to share a little about my family, my husband and I have four little girls.  Samantha is 15 and is in 10th grade at Eaton, Lizzie is 11 and is starting 6th grade at Adams, and Natalie will soon be 10 and is in 4th grade here at Peterson.  I think this is a wonderful school district and I am so glad that my children are here. I feel blessed to have the privilege of teaching your children.  I have always loved working with children and seeing them get excited about something they are learning.

Please let me know if you ever have questions or concerns.  You are always welcome in my class if you would ever like to visit or volunteer!!  I am looking forward to getting to know everyone throughout the year.
